Keith Phillips - DoP, Photographer and Director

"The art of seeing"

Trained at the school of Television Production in London, Keith began his career in Johannesburg in the 1970's  Credits include the feature film Zulu Dawn. Keith then pursued a documentary film making career around Southern Africa, Liberia, Senegal, Cote d'Ivoire and Madagascar.

His commercial career ran in parallel for many years culminating in Keith starting his own company to operate as both DoP and Director. In this period Keith specialised in lighting glass products such as the work of renowned South African artist Shirley Cloete, KWV, Jameson, Bells, and Distel.

Photography has always been a passion of Keith and for the past 15 years has seen him as publisher, photographer and layout artist. His books cover subject from the academic "Soils of South Africa", "Vegetation  of South Africa, Lesotho & Swaziland" to "Wines and Brandies of the Western Cape" for which he won the Gourmand World Cookbook 'Best in the World' award

The work that Keith has done with the Wines and Brandies books brought in more packshot work for the wine industry.
